Cofell has a heart attack and dies, but Jack extracts Kim and Teri's location from Kevin Carroll. Concerned about the possibility of another mole, Nina and Tony agree not to tell Alberta Green anything. When Eli comes to kill them on orders from Andre Drazen, Teri wrestles his gun away and shoots him. She fires a second shot to suggest a second death and she and Kim hide Eli's body.
Jack warns Lynne Kresge about the impending bombing of CTU, but her efforts to alert Palmer are sabotaged by Eric Rayburn, who wants to maintain Jack's cover. Mason locates the warehouse where the nuclear bomb was built, but falls victim to radiation poisoning. Kim takes Megan to CTU, believing that it is the safest place for both of them. Lynne finally alerts Palmer, but CTU is bombed.
Jack catches Tony and forces him to work with CTU on the hostage exchange. SenatorKeeler meets with President Palmer and demands his resignation. Wayne Palmer participates in a covert operation to recover Sherry's incriminating evidence.
Chloe is detained after Erin Driscoll discovers she's been covertly helping Jack, who is forced to hold up a convenience store to detain the terrorist he is tracking. Behrooz realizes how far his parents are willing to go to ensure that the terrorist attacks are successful.
Jack is captured by the terrorists, who use Derek as leverage to force him to compromise CTU's assault team. Logan refuses to give in to the terrorists' demands. Martha continues to try convince her husband that the phone call was real, but Cummings interferes. A new representative from Division arrives at CTU and begins to undermine Buchanan's authority.
Through Assad's intel, Jack learns of a connection between his father Phillip Bauer and the nuke supplier. Jack contacts his brother, Graem, and demands information. As Abu Fayed searches for triggers for his nukes, IAA director Walid al-Rezani spies on suspicious detention camp inmates.
An unexpected development during Tony's interrogation leads Jack to some familiar faces and the surprising discovery that CTU is not entirely gone. With the CIP module and Latham in hand, Colonel Iké Dubaku delivers an ultimatum to the United States government. Renee asks Janis Gold to investigate the FBI leak.
