Teri is struck with amnesia and must turn to an old friend for help. Kim goes to Rick's house in hopes of finding a lead. Jack orchestrates a sting operation against Alexis in an attempt to track his activity, but the plan takes a turn for the worst when Nash stabs Drazen.
George pits Bob against Reza in hopes of learning which one is working with Second Wave. Sherry and Lynne clash over Palmer's speech to the press. Kate is interrogated by Syed Ali, who believes she knows too much about the bomb. Jack and Nina fight off Coral Snake commandos while waiting to be rescued from the crash site. They nearly escape when Nina takes Jack hostage and demands to speak to the President.
Kyle and Linda are abducted by Hector's men. Michelle struggles between her personal and professional obligations. Jack takes drastic action in response to the Salazars' threat, but Chase gets in the way and complicates matters.
Audrey learns that her estranged husband is somehow involved with the terrorists. Navi is willing to kill Behrooz to guarantee that Marwan's plans succeed. Marianne tries to bargain with Curtis for a reduced sentence by helping CTU get intel on the override, but the terrorists are a step ahead.
Jack meets Christopher Henderson at Omicron and almost gets blown up. Audrey convinces Curtis to have Lynn held on the grounds that he is mentally unfit to run CTU. Bierko attacks the Suvarovs, but Aaron Pierce saves the day.
Jack meets with Charles Logan to gain information about the whereabouts of Gredenko, who continues with preparations to set off the remaining nukes. Tensions within the White House Bunker come to a boil just as President Palmer and Assad are about to address the nation, and CTU deals with the fallout from one of their employee's experiences earlier in the day.
In Sangala, Africa, Jack Bauer finds himself caught up in a military coup whilst trying to find somewhere he can be at peace. Meanwhile, in the United States, it is Inauguration Day, where Allison Taylor is being sworn in to office.
