An Aatox chemical delivery system was a specialized type of canister, used to contain and disperse chemical substances, namely, Sentox VX nerve gas during Day 5. The system comprised of a metal, cylinder-shaped casing (exactly 5mm thick) which housed the canister, as well as a remote trigger which activated the canister's dispersal mechanism. The trigger was activated by a seven-digit code, unique to each system. ("Day 5: 1:00pm-2:00pm")

5x11Canister

An Aatox chemical delivery system, with modifications from the Dawn Brigade

A conspiracy in the United States government supplied Russian separatist group the Dawn Brigade with twenty such canisters of Sentox nerve gas. The separatists planned to take the canisters back to their home base in Central Asia with the intention of using the gas in an attack on Moscow. However, the conspirators would have then activated the remote triggers for the canisters by satellite, releasing the gas prematurely and wiping out the separatists. So the conspirators' plan could work, they planted a man among the separatists, who secretly altered the arming codes to the triggers. When the terrorists learned of this deception, they planned on retaliating by using the gas against American targets, but were now unable to use the triggers. ("12:00pm-1:00pm")

They were put in touch with Jacob Rossler, who was familiar with the design of the canisters. The separatists forced a mechanic to cut into outer casing of each canister, revealing its unique arming code. Rossler then used these codes to program a new chip for the remote trigger. ("1:00pm-2:00pm")

Separatist Andrei discovered a way to release the gas manually. This method would be used in the Dawn Brigade's gas attacks against the U.S. ("2:00pm-3:00pm")
