Aisha Naomi Tyler (born September 18, 1970; age 53) played Marianne Taylor during Season 4 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Aisha Tyler is a stand-up comedian, talk show host and actress. She was born in San Francisco, California to a teacher and a photographer. After her parents' divorce, she was raised by her father. She became interested in comedy during high school where she attended improv and theater classes. Tyler attended Dartmouth College, earning a degree in environmental policy. After briefly working for a San Francisco advertising firm, she decided to follow comedy and acting instead, moving to Los Angeles in 1996.

Tyler began her career with appearances in shows like Nash Bridges (with Jaime Gomez), The Pretender (with Patrick Bauchau and Jon Gries), and Curb Your Enthusiasm. She has also had recurring guest roles on Friends, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (with Channon Roe), and Ghost Whisperer (with Tim Guinee). She is currently the voice of Lana Kane in the FX animated series Archer.

In March 2013, Tyler signed on to host a revival of the popular improvisation comedy series Whose Line Is It Anyway? to be broadcast on The CW.[1]

Tyler has also guest-starred on shows such as Nip/Tuck, Glee, Reno 911! and Hawaii Five-O (with Daniel Dae Kim).

Role on 24[]

Tyler played the role of Marianne Taylor during Season 4 of 24. Taylor was a CTU intelligence agent that was working for terrorist Habib Marwan. During an episode of The Talk, Tyler talked about her experience working with Kiefer Sutherland saying:

"There were days where our characters had phone conversations, and he would come in. [Kiefer] didn't have to shoot that day at all and he would come in to read his off-camera lines which never happens on a show; usually you have some stand-in or an assistant do that. He was incredibly present, so polite, sweet to everybody, knew everyone's name."[2]

Tyler's comments came in response to Freddie Prinze Jr.'s criticism of Sutherland after his work on Season 8 of the show. Tyler appeared in a total of seven episodes and was credited as a guest star.
