Akira Shimonita was the manager of the World Furniture Center, located in Omori, during Day 1.
Go Samejima, an employee of the store, arranged to meet Miyu Shido and Suzu Hakozaki at the store as part of a plot to kidnap Miyu and ultimately assassinate Urara Asakura. To close off any leads, Shimonita was strangled in his home shortly before the day began.
Akira's body
When looking for their daughters, Rikka Shido and Yogo Hakozaki realised that they were with Go. They looked on the company website and found that Shimonita was the manager. Rikka called Itsuki Mizuishi, who found his phone number and passed it on. Rikka called, but only got his answering machine, so left a message. The machine recorded the message as Akira's corpse lay on the floor. ("Day 1: 1:00am-2:00am")
