Al Sapienza (born July 31, 1962; age 61) played Paul Koplin in Season 2 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Al Sapienza was born in New York City. He started studying music when he was eight years old, but chose acting instead when he was twelve. Sapienza graduated from New York University, and then landed a role in the Broadway musical Beatlemania. After 5 years of performing, he moved to Los Angeles, where he studied under Milton Katselas for years.

Sapienza is best known for his recurring roles on pay-cable crime dramas such as The Sopranos and Brotherhood. He also appeared in several episodes of the series Prison Break playing mobster Philly Falzone and Person of Interest (with Kevin Chapman) as Corrupt Homicide Detective Raymond Tierney, who is in League with the Ring of Corrupt Cops Known as Hr. In 2014, Sapienza had a supporting role in the SyFy Channel mini-series Ascension (with Wendy Crewson and Gil Bellows).

Aside of TV, Sapienza has had supporting roles in films such as Cellular (with Richard Burgi and Greg Collins), The Path to 9/11 (with Mido Hamada), Sharpshooter (with J.J. Perry) and Saw V (with Carlo Rota).

Sapienza currently divides his time between his residences in Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles.
