Alan Burkette was a scientist at Omicron International, where he was the head of the Sentox Project.

Before Day 5

Burkette died two years before Day 5 in a helicopter crash in Geneva. It was implied that his death was ordered by Christopher Henderson when it was revealed that two of Burkette's Sentox Project co-workers also died under suspicious circumstances within a short time of one another. This was to cover up their knowledge of 20 canisters of Sentox VX nerve gas which were not sold or destroyed.

Henderson revealed very little about Burkette and his fellow scientists before leaving Jack Bauer for dead in a room rigged with explosives.
