Alexander Olaseni James Lanipekun (born April 7, 1981; age 39) played James Harman in 24: Live Another Day.

Biography and career Edit

Alex Lanipekun was born in London, England. His father is Nigerian and his mother is half-Italian and half-English. When Lanipekun was four, his parents separated and he moved from Brixton to Finsbury Park. He was raised in North London by his single mother, a secondary school music teacher.

Lanipekun attended Crowland Junior School, St Aidan's Primary School and then Rokesly Junior School, before earning a financial scholarship to Christ's Hospital School in Horsham, West Sussex. He then attended Westminster College, and later completed a BSc in Anthropology at University College London. After University, Lanipekun attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

When he was 13 years old, Lanipekun auditioned for the National Youth Music Theatre, and became a member. Four years later, he auditioned for the National Youth Theatre, and was accepted as well. It was at this point that he first seriously considered acting as a career. In 2001, he got his first acting role on the film The Fourth Angel. After that, he has appeared in films like Blitz, Dead Europe, Twenty8k, Second Coming, and Killing Jesus.

Lanipekun has also appeared in several TV shows. From 2007 to 2008, he had a recurring role on MI-5 (with Miranda Raison). Other shows in which he has appeared are Beautiful People, Being Human, The Borgias (with Colm Feore), and London Irish. In 2014, he also had a recurring role on Showtime's Homeland, along with Nazanin Boniadi and Maury Sterling.
