Amy Hubbard was born in London, England to John and Ros Hubbard, both casting directors. She has a brother, Daniel, who also works in casting.

Hubbard began her career in 1991 as a production assistant in the film The Commitments. With time, she started working as a casting assistant, and then as casting director. After working in 24: Live Another Day, Hubbard has worked in the casting of shows like Homeland and Tyrant, both created by Howard Gordon.
