Amy was awakened by the newspaper's assistant editor Josh Segal just before 4:00am, who told her to go to the rectory to investigate Father Frank's murder and the events there over the last few hours. She eventually agreed and got out of bed. Just after 8:00am she conducted an interview with the Pope, trying to find out, to no avail, what had happened earlier in the morning at the church. Several hours later she bumped into Marwan al-Hassan. She recognised him as his brother, Abdul al-Hassan, and he feigned remembering her.
