Ascent Media Laboratories was an American post-production company that provided processing services for 24. They processed the film for Season 2, 3, 4 and the first 20 episodes of Season 5. After this, processing moved to FotoKem.
The company was founded in 1999 via a three-way merger of the Todd-AO Corporation, Four Media Company, and SounDelux Entertainment Group. They were based in Burbank and provided a range of creative services for post-production. In 2005, they made a deal with Sony Pictures to convert their film back catalogue into digital. Subsidiaries of Ascent Media who also worked on 24 include Encore and Level 3 Post. In 2010, Ascent Media was acquired by the Deluxe Entertainment Group.
