Badar Marwan was a character deleted from the scenes of Season 4. He was scripted to be the son of terrorist mastermind Habib Marwan.

Season 4 deleted scenes[]

Waiting alone in an undecorated apartment, Habib Marwan hears a knock and opens the door to find his wife, Hessa, with their young son, Badar. Badar enthusiastically greets his father, giving him a large hug. After a moment, Habib tells his son to sit by and play with his handheld computer game. The boy waits while his parents speak: Habib wants his wife to take Badar to San Diego, then to Mexico, while he stays behind in Los Angeles. Hessa fears she will not see Habib again and is distressed. Habib tells her to inform the boy of their sacrifices, so he can be proud of his parents' work when he is old enough to understand. While they finish speaking Badar notices that his mother has become distraught. Concerned, he asks his father if he is going away, but Habib assures him they will be together soon. They embrace, and Habib tells him to be good and remember that he is loved.

This scene was deleted by Jon Cassar because he did not feel it was best for the audience to sympathize with Habib Marwan. He was also concerned with the repetitiousness of meeting a terrorist's family, since the audience already met the family of Navi Araz. Despite this, Cassar introduced the scene by saying it was his favorite of the scenes cut from the season and "beautifully acted".
