Brett Rickaby (born December 15, 1964; age 55) played Sam in Season 5 of 24.

Biography and career Edit

Brett Rickaby was born in Shafer Minnesota to a dairy farmer. He attended Chisago Lakes High School where, as a senior, he received a letter from a professor at the University of Minnesota in Duluth encouraging him to attend their theater program. By his senior year (1987), he had won the National Irene Ryan Acting Award at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

After that, he received a scholarship to attend New York University's MFA program. Rickaby also performed in numerous New York and regional theater productions including The New York Shakespeare Festival, The Roundabout and The Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Rickaby's television career includes appearances in shows like Judging Amy, The Practice (with John Hawkes), Star Trek: Enterprise (with John Billingsley and Connor Trinneer), ER (with Leland Orser), Shark (with Kevin Alejandro, Richard Burgi, and Amy Price-Francis), NCIS (with Pauley Perrette and T.J. Ramini), Numb3rs (with Peter MacNicol, Navi Rawat, and John Rubinstein), Southland (with Michael Cudlitz), Castle (with Stana Katic and Penny Johnson Jerald), and Longmire (with Katee Sackhoff and Lou Diamond Phillips).

Aside of TV, Rickaby has appeared in films like The Want (with Jeff Kober), Zodiac (with John Lacy), and The Crazies (with Glenn Morshower and Gregory Sporleder).
