Murray attended the Orme School in Arizona, where he played baseball. He turned down a chance to play at Arizona State because he wanted to be a doctor. Through his career, Murray has appeared in TV shows like China Beach (with Jeff Kober and Raymond Cruz), The Flash (with Josh Cruze), Buddy Faro, The West Wing (with Don McManus, Devika Parikh, and Peter James Smith), and Crossing Jordan (with Ravi Kapoor and Brian Kimmet). He also had a recurring role in Zoey 101 from 2005 to 2008.
In 2012, Murray appeared in an episode of Touch, starring Kiefer Sutherland. The episode in which he appeared was directed by Milan Cheylov, and also featured Ron Yuan.
