Cliff Lanning (born January 3, 1965; age 59) served as the first assistant director (AD) for the first episode of 24.
Biography and career[]
Cliff Lanning was born in Kingsbury, Middlesex, in the United Kingdom. He began working on films in 1985 as a production runner. In 1987, he worked as third assistant director on the TV movie Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story, and also on several episodes of the show Inspector Morse.
Through his career, Lanning has worked on TV shows like The Governor, Harbour Lights, and In Deep. He has also worked on films like Wuthering Heights, First Knight, The Fifth Element, The Mummy (with Arnold Vosloo), Life of Pi, and RED 2. He also worked on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, both as a first assistant director and as an actor.
Lanning is a Green Card holder, and a member of the Directors Guild of America.
