Dan Bucatinsky (born September 22, 1965; age 58) is an American actor, writer and producer who portrays Andy Shalowitz, a CTU communications analyst in 24: Legacy. His casting was announced in March 4, 2016.
Biography and career[]
Bucatinsky was born in New York City. He came from to Argentine Jewish parents, Julio and Myriam. He graduated in Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Bucatnsky's first role was the television film Another Midnight Run. He was the writer, producer and star of the 2001 romantic comedy All Over the Guy. He also appeared in the 2000 film The Sky is Falling (with Sean Astin) and the 2003 movie Under the Tuscan Sun (with Matt Salinger and Don McManus).
His television roles The Pretender (with Patrick Bauchau, Jon Gries and Susan Gibney), Chicago Hope (with Bruce Nozick), M.Y.O.B, (again with Don McManus), That 80's Show (with Geoff Pierson), NYPD Blue (with Esai Morales, Josie DiVincenzo, Randy Flagler and Austin Tichenor), CSI: Miami (with Megalyn Echikunwoke and Evan Ellingson), Grey's Anatomy (with Kim Raver) and In Plain Sight (with Teddy Sears). He also had a recurring role in the ABC drama Scandal, which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. He was the series regular in the short-lived NBC sitcom Marry Me (with JoBeth Williams).
Bucatinsky wrote episodes of Lipstick Jungle (again with Kim Raver and with Paul Blackthorne) and Grey's Anatomy. He and Lisa Kudrow are the executive producers of the tv show 'Who Do You Think You Are?' Aisha Tyler was the subject an episode.
Bucatinsky is married to writer Dan Roos. He is the author of the memoir 'Does This Baby Make Me Look Straight?' about his experiences as a gay parent to two children.
