Daniel Arrias

Daniel Jon Arrias (born April 2, 1967; age 57) is a stunt performer and actor who appeared as one of Alan Wilson's mercenaries in Season 7 of 24. He was also Gino Montesinos's stunt double in the role of Eduardo during Season 3, though did not appear on screen in this role.

Biography and career

Daniel Arrias was born in Los Angeles, California. He was a stand out athlete during high school, playing football, running track and pole vaulting. After graduating, Arrias started practicing Taekwondo under the masters Joon Kim and Jin Ha Choi and eventually became a full-time instructor. He has a black belt in Taekwondo and is also trained in boxing, kickboxing, grappling, and gymnastics.

Arrias also has a degree in Fire Science. He is certified by the South Bay Fire Academy and had a career as a Reserve Fire Fighter for the Culver City Fire Department. After performing live action shows as a Power Ranger, he decided to pursue a career as a stunt performer instead. After two years or working as a stunt, he joined the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in 2001.

In his stunt career, Arrias has worked in several TV series, including Charmed, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Shield, The Unit, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Sons of Anarchy, FlashForward, Scorpion, Supergirl, and Future Man. His feature film performances include Spider-Man 2, Live Free or Die Hard, Star Trek, The Expendables, Argo, and Jason Bourne. Arrias has doubled for actors such as George Clooney, Esai Morales, Danny Pino, Brian Bloom, and Jason Gedrick. He has also served as stunt coordinator for the feature films King of the Lost World and Shapeshifter.

In 2010, Arrias earned a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture as part of the stunt crew for Star Trek, along with stunt performers Robert Alonzo, Sala Baker, Paul Lacovara, Rob Mars, Heidi Moneymaker, Mike Mukatis, Chris Palermo, Eddie Perez, and Marcus Young. The same year he received a Taurus World Stunt Award nomination in the category Best High Work which he shared with Ilram Choi, Mike Massa, Paul Lacovara, and Anthony Molinari.
