Biography and career Edit
Singh was born in Durham, England. As a teenager, he was a rugby player, but at the age of fourteen he suffered a broken neck injury which resulted in paralysis. Despite the diagnosis, Singh committed to an 8-month rehabilitation program which resulted in total recovery from his injury. Unfortunately, Singh was plagued by obesity after that, which led him to take up exercise, basketball, and weight-lifting.
In 2007, Singh began a career in professional wrestling training with Elix Skipper and Mr. Hughes. The next year, he appeared in the Gladiators series under the name of "Warrior". After that, he signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. Upon returning to the UK, he signed with MMA promotion Super Fight League, where he competed as a heavyweight.
In 2014, Singh made his acting debut in 24: Live Another Day. He is also the founder of Gladiator Nutrition, with stores in Gateshead, Durham and Peterlee.
Role on 24 Edit
Singh was cast for the role of Fazil in 2014. According to Singh, he auditioned in London and was given the role within the day. He described the role as "stereotypical", adding that Fazil was Margot Al-Harazi's head of security which meant he "beat people up, wrap-up dead bodies and kill people".
In an interview with Chronicle Live, he said that he filmed his scenes in an old Gilette factory in London. Singh added about the experience:
- "It has been really fun but mainly educational for me. I don't come from an acting background so it's been great working with Kiefer Sutherland and the likes of Michelle [Fairley]."
He also praised Sutherland saying how he made him feel at ease during filming. "He's very professional, a pleasure to work with", Singh added.
