Daniel Zacapa (born July 19, 1951; age 72) is a Honduran-born character actor who appeared as Luis in 24: Legacy.

Biography and career

Zacapa has worked steadily in film and television since 1978. Originally credited as Garrett Pearson, he began using his birth name in 1995.

Zacapa's television appearances, numbering in the dozens, include CHiPs (with Robert Pine), Knots Landing (with William Devane), Simon & Simon (with Gerald McRaney), The Agency (with Will Patton, Carmen Argenziano and Gregg Henry), Nip/Tuck (with Jonathan Del Arco and Marisol Nichols), JAG, Alias (with David Anders), The Closer (with Raymond Cruz and Norma Maldonado), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Chicago Fire. He starred in Resurrection Blvd. with other 24 alums, including Yorgo Constantine, Marisol Nichols and Tony Plana and The River, along Leslie Hope, Paul Blackthorne and Thomas Kretschmann.

In film, Zacapa is perhaps best known for his supporting role as Detective Taylor in David Fincher's Se7en, also starring Endre Hules, Michael Massee, and Leland Orser. Other credits include Tequila Sunrise, The Sandlot, Phenomenon, Up Close & Personal (again with Raymond Cruz), The Odd Couple II, The Mexican and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (with Michael Filipowich).

Despite playing Jimmy Smits' uncle in 24, Zacapa is in fact only four years Smits' senior.
