Dave Thompson was a traffic reporter during the events of Day 1. At 9:00am, Dave reported the traffic on Interstate 405 from inside Jet Copter Three, saying that there were the usual delays at Sepulveda Pass but that it loosened up at Culver. He then introduced Bill, who spoke about developments concerning an attack several hours earlier on Senator David Palmer.

A short while later, Dave then talked about congestion in North Hollywood and Verdugo due to an appearance by Palmer at the Grant Street Elementary School. ("9:00am-10:00am")
