David Rasey Sardi was the first assistant director on the pilot episode of 24: Legacy. He has 30 years of experience in films, but his work on 24 was his first time working on a TV show.

Biography and career[edit | edit source]

David Sardi is from New York City. His father is the owner of the Sardi restaurant in the city. His family has had a long-standing involvement to the city of New York and the theatre industry, dating back to his grandfather.

Sardi has worked as an assistant director in numerous films. Some of the ones he has worked on are Born on the Fourth of July, Speed, Fast Five, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and Terminator Genisys. Sardi recently worked on both Marvel films, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Aside from his work as an assistant director, he wrote the 2018 film Red Squad. Sardi also served as producer for the 2010 film Main Street.

Sardi married location manager Susan Fazekas in 1988. The couple had a daughter, Alison Claire, born in 1992. Fazekas died in 2006 after a long illness.
