Genba Shido rescues Heisuke Satonaka from assassins, and gains more information on the traitor in CTU. Nanami Hikawa passes the ID card onto Tamizo Kanbayashi, but there is a complication. Miyu and Suzu's situation becomes more serious, as Rikka Shido attempts to find them.

Heisuke Satonaka says that in the next 24 hours there will be an assassination attempt on Urara Asakura, and that someone within CTU is involved.
Itsuki Mizuishi asks Genba Shido if he is having problems at home, and Rikka Shido tells him their daughter Miyu may be at a club. Miyu tells Kenya Hasebe that her father died.
Nanami Hikawa blows up a plane, and Takumi Nanjo tells Genba about it. Miyu realises she may be in danger.

Hopes are high for Japan's first female Prime Minister on the day of the general election.

The following takes place in Tokyo, 1:00am to 2:00am.

Nanami Hikawa sits by a fire in the wasteland. A newscaster reports that the flight has crashed off the coast of the Chiba prefecture. Eiko Tanaka tells Genba Shido she is unable to reach Heisuke Satonaka. Takumi Nanjo shows Genba the passenger and crew list, and Genba tells him it can't be an accident. Itsuki Mizuishi points out that the flight came from New York, where the terrorists are based. Genba tells them to look into the passengers.

As he leaves, Takumi asks him what happened between him and Onitsuka in his office. Itsuki steps in, and explains to the room that Onitsuka was a close friend of the agents Genba sent to jail, and he was getting revenge by slandering Genba and other CTU staff. Itsuki says Genba got angry, hence Onitsuka's leg injury. Satisfied, Takumi goes back to work, and Genba quietly tells Itsuki it was a far fetched story.

In the wasteland, Nanami puts Tsunehiko Minagawa's ID into a metal case and buries it. A jeep approaches, and the driver asks if she got the ID. She says she did, and gets in. The jeep drives away, and a woman on a motorbike then arrives. Using a tracker on her phone, she locates the buried case and retrieves the ID.

At CTU, Takumi tells Itsuki that her defence of Genba reminded him of a time they arrived at work together and she made up a story about a meeting at headquarters. He says he was impressed with her acting, and he asks her again what happened in Genba's office. She reminds him that Asakura's life is in danger, and tells him to get back to work.

Heisuke Satonaka enters a building. Elsewhere, Yogo Hakozaki and Rikka Shido arrive at the furniture store and notice Suzu's car outside. They enter, calling out for their daughters, but there's no-one there. They notice empty beer cans, and the used bed, and then Rikka gets a call from Genba. She tells him Miyu isn't there, then hangs up and keeps searching the building.

In the van, Suzu collapses and Miyu tends to her. Go says she will get better on her own, but Miyu asks them to stop the van. Go refuses, and Miyu explains her father is an important government agent. Ken questions this, and Miyu says she was lying about her father being dead. Ken tries to shut Miyu up, but she points to a police car and says her father is already looking for them. Go swerves into a back alley, out of sight of the police car.

Heisuke makes his way through the building, gun drawn. He meets Tohru Mikami, and tells him to be calm. He explains that as he found evidence of a traitor in the CTU, it is his duty to report it. Mikami hands him a CTU entry card, explaining that there is an huge amount of data hidden on its IC chip. Heisuke asks why, and Mikami explains it was a way of smuggling information about Urara Asakura out of CTU.

Mikami goes to leave, but Heisuke asks him to wait. Mikami says he had to hide his wife and children due to his discovery, and he doesn't want to be killed. Heisuke says he needs him to help, and Mikami agrees that he will stay for another 24 hours. He is then shot in the back by an unseen gunman, and Heisuke is shot in the arm. He returns fire, ducking for cover.

At CTU, Genba is briefing Asakura's security detail when he gets a call from Heisuke, who tells him he is at Minato Plaza Building being targeted by multiple gunmen. Genba tells him to contact someone closer, but Heisuke tells him not to contact anyone and come alone.

On his way out, he calls Rikka, who tells him she thinks the girls have left in a boy's car. She asks him to come, but he says he has an emergency to deal with. She tells him their daughter is missing, and he replies that she is just having fun. Rikka looks over at the used bed. She says she will wait for them to return.

Takumi asks Itsuki where Genba is, and asks if she is now in charge. Itsuki says she doesn't know. At the furniture store, Yogo finds the staff sheet and notices Go Samejima's name, recognising it as the boy Suzu was dating.

In the van, Go explains that they aren't bad guys. Miyu asks what he will do with them, and he says it is a secret. Miyu asks Ken why he is doing this, and Ken lets slip that they are working for some guys. Miyu tries to open the window to give Suzu some air, but Go pushes her back.

A news report talks about the crashed plane as Urara Asakura watches. Noboru Akiyama approaches, and Urara asks him to contact Jyoshu. He warns her not to take risks, but she tells him to do it. Urara then enters her bedroom and apologises to Yohei for walking away from him earlier. She says it is the second most important day of her life, and when Yohei asks what the first is, she jokingly says it was when she won the Kendo district tournament. Yohei tells her Yuta and Hina are on their way over with his mother. She angrily asks why they are coming over in the middle of the night, and Yohei explains that Hina has baked apple pie for them. Yohei asks if her outburst is related to Madoka Yamashiro's phone call, and if it involves the children. Urara says she is just tired, and leaves the room.

At CTU, Takumi Nanjo watches a video of Yohei Asakura, explaining he is well educated but runs his wife's errands. Itsuki scolds him, telling him to be politically impartial. She asks if he spoke to air traffic control, and Takumi explains that the plane just disappeared from the radar. Itsuki suspects it was blown up.

The jeep arrives at a warehouse, where Tamizo Kanbayashi is co-ordinating things via a headset. Nanami enters and he offers her a drink. He opens a suitcase full of money, and offers her another job in the summer. She refuses, saying she needs to hide for a while, and he asks for the ID. She says he will have it soon, explaining she doesn't trust his men. He closes the suitcase of money.

Genba arrives at Minato Plaza, and gets out of his car on the phone with Itsuki. He asks her for an unlock code to the back door of the building, which she provides to him. He hangs up, and Takumi brings up a transcript of their conversation on his computer.

Genba makes his way to the roof of the building, where he meets Heisuke. Genba looks at his wound, and Heisuke says there are potentially three assailants. Heisuke explains that Mikami gave him evidence of the conspiracy, and Genba asks if the seniors of CTU are involved. Heisuke says he doesn't know, and they make their way downstairs.

Nanami is washing in a bathroom when a man walks in, then apologises. Nanami calls him back, saying he looks identical to Tsunehiko Minagawa. The man explains he had plastic surgery, and Nanami asks if he is the assassin.

At CTU, Takumi tells Itsuki he can't find Genba anywhere, and asks if her call was to him. She tells him it was headquarters, and he questions if she is telling the truth. She explains that they have military ranks, and tells him not to snoop on his superiors. He tells her that she may be a superior in work, but outside it is different.

Genba and Heisuke make their way down a stairwell, but get shot at. They duck into a room, and Heisuke apologises for bringing Genba into this trouble. Genba says that Heisuke saved his life, so he has nothing to apologise for. He asks if Heisuke can run to his car outside.

They make their way through a lounge, and are shot at again. They duck behind a bar and return fire. The gunmen hit bottles of whiskey behind them, starting a fire. They sneak from behind the bar, and Heisuke takes out one of the gunmen. Genba jumps up and shoots the other man through a glass partition. Heisuke asks who the men are, and Genba says he will identify them.

Ayako Tani, the woman on the motorbike, arrives at the warehouse. Nanami asks for the ID, but Ayako walks past her and gives Tamizo a photo of it. They ask where the real ID is, and Nanami points a gun at Ayako. Ayako points out that if she shoots, the ID will be gone forever. In a back room, Nanami asks Ayako what she is doing, and Ayako explains that they don't have to be at their mercy.

Rikka is on the furniture store website, looking at the list of employees, but cannot find Go. Yogo says they need to find the manager's contact details, and Rikka then says that her husband may be able to help. She can't get through to him, so calls CTU and speaks to Itsuki. She asks for her to look up the manager's details, but Itsuki says she can't. Rikka explains that her daughter is missing with one of the store workers, and Itsuki agrees to do it.

At the hotel, Yuta and Hina arrive with Shigeko. Yohei greets them, saying it is a historic day, and Urura then enters. Hina gives her the apple pie she baked, and Shigeko says she is here to help. Urara says Yuta and Hina need to rest, before Noboru walks up with a call for her. She goes into a back room and speaks to Jyoshu, who says it is rare for her to contact him. She explains that Madoka Yamashiro called her, and she needs to speak to him right away. He agrees, and fastens his seatbelt and drives into the night.

Rikka and Yogo are cleaning up the store, as Yogo explains how his daughter is rebellious. Rikka replies that she has been separated from Genba, when her phone rings and Itsuki gives her the store manager's details. Itsuki then calls the number, and leaves a message on his answerphone explaining the situation. In the store manager's house, he lies dead on the floor, having been strangled.

Hina slices up her pie, giving some to her father. Yuta mentions that he felt his mother was acting strangely, and Yohei says it is election nerves. Shigeko tells them it is time to sleep, but they are interrupted by Tadashi Kindaichi and Yukiya Soma from the Security Police, who ask to speak to Urara. Yohei goes to get her, but finds her gone. Tadashi realises she is missing, and orders someone to track her with GPS. He explains to Yohei that there is an assassination plot against Urara. Downstairs, Urara exits the hotel and gets into her car.

Genba and Heisuke reach the parking lot of the building, but as they reach the car Heisuke is shot in the shoulder. Genba is pinned down behind the car, and Heisuke gives him the key card from Mikami. He tells Genba to have Sumire Akechi investigate the card, as they can trust her. He explains that whoever made the card is the traitor in CTU. As he hands over the card, he is shot again and dies. Genba takes the card, shoots at the assailant and then gets in his car and drives away.

At CTU, Sumire gets a call from Genba, who tells her two agents died at Minato Plaza. He also asks her to read the data from the key card, and she asks him to transfer it from his car. He pulls over and scans the key card chip, uploading the data to the CTU cloud. Sumire downloads it, and he asks her to trace which CTU terminal wrote the data.

As Itsuki comes over, Sumire minimises the download. Itsuki asks if she spoke to Genba, and says to let her know if he calls back.

Go's van pulls into a parking lot and he tells Miyu to call her mother, saying she is at a party. She refuses, and he slaps her. He then grabs Suzu's arms and pulls it back, breaking it. He grabs her other arm and Miyu says she will call.

At the furniture store, Rikka answers her phone and Miyu tells her she is at a party. She says she will be back in a couple of hours, and Rikka asks if Suzu is with her. Miyu says Suzu went to the convenience store, and Rikka asks for their location so she can pick them up. Miyu says she doesn't know, and tells Rikka she loves her. Go then takes her phone and throws it away. They push her back into the van.

Rikka tells Yogo that Miyu said "I love you", which she never normally says. Elsewhere, Urara Asakura drives towards her destination.

Sumire calls Genba back and tells him she has the author of the data. She sends it to Genba, who is shocked: it is the profile of Itsuki Mizuishi. Sumire asks what this is about, and he tells her it is classified.

At CTU, Eiko and Takumi watch a video of the plane blowing up in mid air. Takumi wonders what could have made it explode so suddenly. Itsuki watches them from across the room. Outside the warehouse, the assassin practises his aim by shooting some cans.

Split screen: Genba drives back to CTU. Suzu cries over her broken arm. Rikka checks her phone. Urara drives to Jyoshu. Yohei sits in a chair, contemplating. Sumire looks over at Itsuki.
