Summary

Michelle Dessler comforts dying Gael Ortega in the Chandler Plaza Hotel. Many guests in the hotel show symptoms of the virus and are offered suicide pills, but few take them. Jack Bauer and Chase Edmunds apprehend Diana White , former lover of Stephen Saunders, at her residence. Bauer and Chase take her to the MI6 headquarters in los Angeles, where they receive the help of Trevor Tomlinson. Stephan Saunders and his men attack the building, and their helicopter attacks the floor Jack is on. Jack throws Diana to the ground as the others take cover. Trevor is shot and dies on the floor of the offices while Jack and Chase hold off Saunders men. Even though Jack threw Diana to the ground, she also dies, as do most of the people on that floor. Jack and Chase kill several of Saunders men, including one instance where Chase shot though the wall to kill one guard.

Michelle Dessler tries to control the situation in the hotel. She informs people over P.A. that they have to return to return their rooms and not try to leave the hotel. The wife of Danny who has been killed by Michelle when trying to escape the hotel realizes what happened.

President Palmer phones Jack Bauer to get more information about the terrorist. Bauer has to leads: the terrorist says he knows him and he knows Alvers.

Wayne and David Palmer debrief about the terrorist threat.

At the hotel {{philips]] asks Michelle the chances of survival. Tony calls Michelle to get a description of the terrorist from Alvers. NHS arrive at the hotel. Michelle asks Alvers about the terrorist. Chloe cross-checks with personnel Jack worked with and shows the photos to Alvers. None matches. Jack then asks to search among presumed dead people. They then find the terrorist is Stephen Saunders. Jack explained he was in the Kosovo mission againt Drazen.

David and Wayne Palmer debrief about the hotel attempt. O'Laughing advises President to raise threat level to red, to ground flights and close airports. Wayne Palmer and O'Laughing argues about measures to take. Stephen Saunders phone President Palmers and asks him to retrieve a package from a mailbox across the street.

Jack phones Trevor Tomlinson at MI6 about Stephen Saunders. Trevor tells Jack that Saunders has a relationship with Diana White.

NHS begin testing at the hotel. The results take two hours to get.

Aaron informs President Palmer that the package contains a phone. Saunders calls the President on the new phone and asks him to set a conference press and use the phrase "The sky is falling" during . Wayne and David Palmer argue about doing this press conference. President finally decide to have it.

Jack and Chase pays a visit to Diana White. They finally take her to MI6.
