Diego Garcia was an island in the Indian Ocean, and part of the British Indian Ocean Territory. It was the location of a major joint military base of the United Kingdom and the United States.

While Heller had the help of Prime Minister Davies, Margot Al-Harazi's attack on a convoy in the Kajaki Province with a hijacked drone seemed likely to prevent this. During an impassioned speech in front of Parliament, Heller seemed to convince them to renew the lease, but it was indicated by Heller's comments the next day as he prepared to leave, that the following drone attacks and death toll prevented this from happening.
