Domenico "Domenick" Lombardozzi (born March 25, 1976; age 48) played John Mazoni during Season 8 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Domenico "Domenick" Lombardozzi was born in The Bronx, New York. He is the youngest of three children. Lombardozzi has Italian heritage on his father's side.

Lombardozzi began his career in 1993, appearing in the film A Bronx Tale, with Robert De Niro. After that, he has appeared in films like 61* (with Bob Gunton, Connor Trinneer, and JD Cullum), Public Enemies, How Do You Know (with Dean Norris), and The Gambler.

Aside of those films, Lombardozzi has shared the screen with Colin Farrell in three occasions. In 2002, they both worked in Phone Booth (with Kiefer Sutherland, Yorgo Constantine, and James MacDonald). The next year, both actors appeared in S.W.A.T., along with many other 24 alumni like Denis Arndt, Lucinda Jenney, Jay Acovone, Devika Parikh, Gregory Sporleder, Eric Strickland, and Reed Diamond. Finally, in 2006 both actors appeared in Miami Vice, along with John Hawkes and Isaach De Bankole.

However, Lombardozzi is more known for his role as Detective Thomas "Herc" Hauk in the critically acclaimed series The Wire (with Gbenga Akinnagbe) from 2002 to 2008. He has also had recurring and lead roles in shows like Breakout Kings (from 2011 to 2012) and Boardwalk Empire (from 2013 to 2014).

Other shows in which he has appeared are NYPD Blue (with Esai Morales), Third Watch (with Kim Raver), Entourage (with Kevin Dillon), and Chicago Fire (with Nestor Serrano and Randy Flagler). Lombardozzi has also appeared in three Law & Order series: the original Law & Order (1999), Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005, with Kirk Acevedo), and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2009).
