Biography and career[edit | edit source]
Edoardo Ballerini was born in Los Angeles, California, to Italian poet Luigi Ballerini and American writer Julia. He grew up between New York City and Milan, Italy, and is a dual citizen of both countries. He started school in New York City, but at age 14 he went for boarding school. After school, he attended Wesleyan University and graduated with honors.
After graduation, Ballerini received a scholarship to study Latin in Rome. While in Italy, he joined a theater company. After that, he took acting classes in New York at HB Studios and The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.
Ballerini's first acting role was in 1995 on an episode of Law & Order. After that, he has appeared in shows like Homicide: Life on the Street, NYPD Blue (with Esai Morales), The Sopranos, Threat Matrix (with Anthony Azizi), and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. In 2010, he had a recurring role in Boardwalk Empire.
In 2000, Ballerini appeared in Romeo Must Die (alongside DB Woodside). Other films in which he has appeared are Experimenter (with Dennis Haysbert and Donnie Keshawarz), Run, Hellbenders, No Exit, The F Word, and The Pest. Also in 2003, Ballerini directed and starred in a short film about Rudolph Valentino.
