Eric Dale Ritter (born August 29, 1976; age 49) played Sgt. Phillips during Season 4 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Eric Dale Ritter was born in Reno, Nevada. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps as part of the Reconnaissance Indoctrination Platoon (RIP). He was honorably discharged.

Ritter is a talented martial artist, and has numerous titles for point fighting, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Grappling, and MMA. As a result, he was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2004. Ritter has worked in the stunts of shows like Southland and The Newsroom.

Ritter began his acting career in 1991, appearing in a brief role on the film Pretty Hattie's Baby. After that, he has had roles in films like Showgirls, Coyote Ugly, and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (with Jay Acovone). Ritter has also appeared in TV shows like Nashville (with Connie Britton), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (with James MacDonald), CSI: NY, and Star Trek: Voyager.

Role on 24[]

Ritter played the role of Sergeant Phillips during Season 4 of 24. Phillips was a member of the United States Air Force, and was in charge of searching vehicles that approached his base. Ritter appeared in just one episode and was credited as a co-star.
