Ernie Anastos (born July 12, 1943; age 81) played a news anchor during Season 8 of 24. He has been a career professional news anchor for decades.
Biography and career[]
Ernie Anastos was born in Nashua, New Hampshire. He studied at Northeastern University. After graduating, Anastos started working at 98.5 WROR in Boston, as Ernie Andrews. In 1976, Anastos moved to television, becoming an anchor at WPRI-TV in Providence.
Through his career, Anastos has worked as a news anchor at Channel 2 Action News, Eyewitness News, and Fox 5 News at 10. Aside of his career as a reporter, he has appeared in films like Independence Day, Summer of Sam, and Run All Night.
Anastos is also a writer and entrepreneur. He was the owner of several radio stations in the New York area.
