Esai Morales (born October 1, 1962; age 61) played CTU Special Agent Jorge Ramirez during the Day 6 Debrief.
Biography and career
Esai Morales was born in Brooklyn, New York to a welder and a union activist. He is of Puerto Rican descent. Morales graduated from the High School of Performing Arts in New York City, and started working in theater and television.
Throughout his career, Morales has appeared in TV shows like The Equalizer (with Will Patton), and Miami Vice (with Francesco Quinn and Jonathan Del Arco). He has also been a regular in shows like American Family, NYPD Blue (with Ricky Schroder), Vanished (with Reed Diamond and John Allen Nelson), Jericho (with D.B. Sweeney), and Caprica. In 2013, he was cast in a recurring role on Criminal Minds, replacing Jayne Atkinson as the BAU Section Chief.
Morales has also starred in several films like La Bamba (with Lou Diamond Phillips), In the Army Now (with Glenn Morshower and Ryan Cutrona), Rapa Nui (with Sandrine Holt), My Family, and Scorpion Spring.
Morales is the co-founder of the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts.
