The Federal Security Bureau, or FSB, was a domestic security agency of the Russian Federation. The successor of the Soviet Union's KGB, the FSB was roughly the equivalent of the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation, investigating crimes against the state such as terrorism, treason, and the dealings of organized crime.

According to GSG-9, Victor Drazen's Black Dogs police organization bribed FSB officials to aid its dealings with the Russian mafia. (Findings at CTU)

After capturing Sergei Bazhaev, CTU New York reviewed intelligence information on him from both FSB and Interpol. ("Day 8: 11:00pm-12:00am")
