Copeland was a United States Army general in service during Day 2.
He was present on board Air Force One as President David Palmer boarded in Oregon. They flew to Los Angeles, after the nuclear bomb had been detonated in the Mojave Desert. En route, Copeland was present in General Bowden's briefing to discuss the military response to the nuclear attack. ("10:00pm-11:00pm", "11:00pm-12:00am")
