Naina Singhania

Naina Singhania was the head of the Singhania political family, the wife of Prime Minister Pratap Singhania and the mother of Aditya Singhania, also a Prime Minister, and Divya Singhania.

Biography

Expulsion from the party

Divya was imprisoned for her actions on Day 1, and Aditya made Naina retire from the party. Prithvi continued as Aditya's counsel, and Aditya avoided speaking to his mother. Naine felt cut off from all of her family. ("Day 2: 11:00am-12:00pm")

Day 2

Naina speaks to her son

At 11am on the morning of Day 2, Naina arrived at Aditya's hotel and asked Mishra to take her to meet her son. She met him outside, and warned him that Prithvi would one day stab him in the back. She pleaded with Aditya to get Divya out of prison; he refused, but said that Naina could stay with him until he went to Delhi the next day. They were interrupted by a call from Prakash Yadav, and Naina offered to speak to Prakash in Aditya's place. After taking care of him, Naina argued with Prithvi, but Aditya was called off to an urgent situation. Naina asked if she could join, but he said Prithvi would accompany him instead. Naina questions Devyani Bhowmick

Later, Naina entered the conference room where Prithvi was speaking with Omprakash Khurana and Zakaria. Prithvi said she could not be there, but Naina revealed she knew about Aditya's meeting with the pharma heads and his relationship with Devyani Bhowmick. She was ushered out, but a short while later she found Aditya and Devyani and asked them to join her for tea. She then revealed that she knew several details about Devyani, explaining that she needed to know all about her son's girlfriend. As they left, Naina asked to meet Devyani again, but she politely declined as she was too busy. ("1:00pm-2:00pm")

Naina pays Devyani a surprise visit

At 3:10pm, Naina went to Devyani's hospital to find her. She found her in a meeting with her ex-husband Dhruv Awasthi, and when she spoke to her, Devyani was defensive. Naina told Devyani she would keep quiet about the meeting if she left Aditya, but Devyani told Naina to leave them alone. Later Naina called Khosla, asking him to try to dig up dirt on Devyani. ("3:00pm-4:00pm")

Naina tried to join forces with Prithvi

Back at the Prime Minister's office, Naina saw ATU chief Shibani Mallick and asked Khosla if he knew why she was there. Khosla told her that Roshan Sherchan had escaped from jail, so Naina found Prithvi and asked him how they would handle the news of the escape. Prithvi told her he was just focussed on recapturing Rosha, but Naina told him they needed to think further ahead and asked him to team up with her to help Aditya get through the crisis. However, Prithvi refused. ("4:00pm-5:00pm")

Naina spoke with Aditya later, telling him that she had seen Devyani getting cozy with another man. Aditya admonished her for interfering in his relationship, but later Naina overhead him speaking to Devyani on the phone and told him she thought he may be blinded by his love for her. ("5:00pm-6:00pm")

Naina works with Khosla to discredit Devyani

Khosla came to see Naina just after 6pm, and gave her Devyani's history of drug abuse and rehab. He explained that her current team at GKV Hospital already knew about it, but Naina told him to email it to them anyway. At around 7:30pm, she organised another meeting with Khosla, and he told her had news on something much bigger than Devyani. ("6:00pm-7:00pm", "7:00pm-8:00pm")

Naina speaks to Aditya in the car

A little later, Khosla told her that Roshan's escape was orchestrated by ATU agent Jai Singh Rathod, but that Aditya and Prithvi were suppressing that news. Naina went to speak to Aditya about it, but he was leaving to see Amar Mane Shinde, so Naina joined him in the car. On the way, Naina asked how he did not know about the ATU conspiracy against him, and Aditya responded by stopping the car and having Mishra take Naina back. He accused her of instigating people against him. ("8:00pm-9:00pm")

Naina sees evidence of Prithvi's affair

She got another call from Khosla, who claimed to have a way to get her back into the PMO permanently. When she got back to the PMO, a guard refused to let her enter on Aditya's orders, so she met Khosla in the parking garage. He showed her pictures of Prithvi's affair with Antara Mane Shinde, and Naina was pleased. Later, Prithvi came to the garage and she confronted him about the affair, explaining that only she could deal with it and Antara's husband Amar. Prithvi ordered the guard to let Naina enter again. Just before 10pm, Naina saw Aditya and persuaded him to let her deal with Mane Shinde, saying she knew of some skeletons in his closet. ("9:00pm-10:00pm")

Naina then called Mane Shinde, telling him to back off Aditya and mentioning the date March 24th, 2006. As a result, Mane Shinde called off his press conference renouncing Aditya as PM. Aditya called Naina and asked what she had done, and Naina explained that Amar had backed off due to his past. Naina agreed to meet Aditya after running and errand. ("10:00pm-11:00pm")

Naina and Khosla try to find Shantaram

She then went to meet Khosla at Shantaram's house, and entered to find it empty. She worried that Mane Shinde had got there first, but later the phone rang and she spoke to Shantaram on it. She explained that she knew that Mane Shinde had killed Shantaram's daughter and bribed him to keep quiet about it. He agreed to speak out against Mane Shinde if Naina got his son Yashwant out of prison. Just before midnight, Naina called Aditya and asked him to free the son, but Aditya refused. ("11:00pm-12:00am")

At around 12:20am, Naina went back into the house with the intention of lying to Shantaram about his son's release. However, she entered to find him dead on the ground, so had Khosla retrieve his phone. She then called Antara Mane Shinde, saying she was coming over to the house to help her. ("12:00am-1:00am")

Naina and Antara watch Amar die

Antara met her by the swimming pool of her house, and Naina said she needed proof that Amar killed Shantaram. Antara agreed to help, and let Naina into the house. Naina then crept into Amar's bedroom and retrieved his phone. She took the call and SMS history from the device, finding that he had contacted Shantaram earlier. However, Amar then interrupted them and asked what Naina was doing there. Naina accused him of Shantaram's murder, and they began arguing, which caused Amar to have a heart attack. Antara tried to get his medicine, but Naina restrained her and they watched Amar die, after which Naina told Antara she was now free. They wheeled Amar's body back to bed, and Naina instructed Antara to act shocked at his death. ("1:00am-2:00am")

Naina recognises Dhruv Awasthi

Naina then returned to the PMO and told Aditya not to worry about Amar anymore. She noticed that Aditya had a picture of Dhruv Awasthi on his computer, identified as a terrorist, and Naina told him that she saw Dhruv with Devyani earlier that day. Aditya summoned Devyani, but asked Naina to leave when he questioned her. Outside, Naina bumped into Devyani's father Bhisham, and she asked to speak with him privately. She took him to see Aditya and Devyani, where Devyani maintained that she had no idea what Dhruv was doing. Devyani was taken to ATU for questioning. ("2:00am-3:00am")

At 4:20am, Naina realised she had lost her watch, and called Antara Mane Shinde to look for it at the crime scene. She later spoke to Aditya, telling him she had handled the media well, and not to worry about Amar. Naina called Antara back, who could not find the watch, and Antara began crying on the phone. However, at 4:45am Naina got a call from Antara saying she had found the watch in Amar's room. ("4:00am-5:00am")

Amar's death was discovered at 6am, and Naina went with Prithvi to the house to pay their respects. When they arrived, Antara had locked herself in her room, and Naina offered to go and speak to her. She demanded her watch back, but Antara wanted to speak to Prithvi, and shouted at Naina to get out. Naina then asked Prithvi to get Antara out of the room. ("6:00am-7:00am")

Shortly after 7am, Antara shot herself in the head. Prithvi and Naina returned to the PMO, and on the way Prithvi accused her of Amar's murder, showing her the watch. She took it off him, saying that if he told Aditya then she would leak his affair to the press and have him thrown out of the party. ("7:00am-8:00am")

Naina visits Aditya in quarantine

When they arrived back, Mathur told them the building was in quarantine due to a virus outbreak, and Aditya had been taken to Seven Hills Hospital. They made their way there, and Sunny Mehta took them to see Aditya. He informed them that he wanted Prithvi to take over as PM, and Naina said he was in no state to be making decisions. Aditya told her to settle her differences with Prithvi. Khosla arrived later, and told Naina that Dhanraj Patel would potentially shift to the opposition if something happened to Aditya. Naina met Dhanraj and asked for his support, then witnessed Prithvi speaking to Govind Arekar from the opposition. She asked Khosla to set up a meeting with Arekar. ("8:00am-9:00am")

Naina tries to get Govind Arekar's support as PM

Naina visited Devyani, who was also being quarantined, and asked her to go and take care of Aditya. She then met Arekar, and told him that if he supported her as PM, she would make him Home Minister. However, their meeting was interrupted by Prithvi, who entered and dismissed Arekar. He accused Naina of playing politics while Aditya was dying, and told her that he had a video of her involvement in Mane Shinde's death, and if she did anything else against Aditya's will he would expose her. A short while later, a cure for the virus was found and administered to Aditya. ("9:00am-10:00am")
