Global Skies Airlines Flight 117 was a passenger flight scheduled to fly from Reagan National to JFK International Airport during Day 7. The plane was redirected by Tony Almeida and his crew to demonstrate to President Allison Taylor that they had control of the CIP firewall.

Day 7[]

The flight crew was given permission to take off from Reagan National from Northeast Air Traffic Controller Phil. As the plane prepared to take off, one flight attendant gave the rehearsed speech about airline safety. Roughly an hour later, as the plane approached JFK, the plane was given new landing orders by Tony Almeida and Masters, who were part of a group of terrorists that hacked the airline communications system. The crew trusted the new orders, unaware of the threat, and as they landed through the fog, they approached Sunrise International passenger Flight 35 on the tarmac. Almeida, at the last moment, ordered the pilot to pull up, and he did. The near-collision was a demonstration designed to show the US government that the terrorists wielded great power. None aboard the plane were harmed.

Background information and notes[]

  • Flight 117 is a Boeing 767, however the shots in the cockpit showed those of a Boeing 747-400 with four thrust levers, as in a 767 there should only be two, one for each engine.
  • The pilots of flight 117 are incorrectly depicted using the thrust levers as attitude/pitch control, in that when instructed start their descent they push the levers forwards, where as they ought to be reducing power to counteract the increased speed due to descent pitch. Then when instructed to "pull up" as opposed to the ICAO standard language of "Flight One One Seven, go round", they then pull the levers backwards which would dramatically decrease thrust. In reality, to engage TOGA power, they should be increasing thrust to maximum.
  • While flight 117 is depicted on radar to be landing on 31L, Sunrise 35 is depicted landing on 4L as opposed to the instructed runway of 4R.
