Everyone should be aware that all signs are indicating Wikia will be integrating ads inside article content, and also possibly 1 large ad that will shove the sidebar/infobox beneath it:
Read here and take a careful look at the images.
All of us respect this is Wikia's business. And we all know that this project exists on our time but their dime... and unless we want to move the community and content, and pay for our own wiki, we can only beg them to change stuff while they develop it. But this new advertising layout is like being kicked in the teeth and being told it's for my own good. They're stating it is in the prototype stages, but I'd be stunned if the final look of this new layout was much different than what you see there.
In case this happens, is anyone able to investigate moving our sidebars to the left? So they won't be displaced all the way down by an advertisement? If that giant ad appears, it won't be such a hideous disaster if we simply move our info boxes over to the right side.08:13, December 13, 2014 (UTC)
- Well, like you said, I suppose there's not much we can do to avoid it. Ads are embedded throughout the articles now anyway, at least for anon users, so I suppose it wouldn't be much of a change for strangers; perhaps more of a change for us. I'm sure we'll see how to manage our articles under the new format as soon as it's implemented. Thief12 (talk) 14:28, December 25, 2014 (UTC)
