: I think it is pretty much based on the editor. Because I'm from the UK I spell things how I would write them in any other context without thinking about it because obviously it never would normally come to me as a good idea to write in the American style. We can see what other editors think about how this should be tackled, and of course I can only speak for myself, but personally it doesn't bother me. <font color="#6678e1">--</font>SignorSimon <small>(talk/contribs/email)</small> 10:26, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

:: In the past, any time there's been a conflict, we've reverted it to the American version, as it's an American show. Being Canadian, I'm used to spelling many words the same way as the Brits, however I always try to make a conscious effort to use American spelling when editing articles. I don't think it's ever come up as a topic before, but perhaps we should add it to the Manual of Style. --proudhug 15:13, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Forum: The Situation Room > American vs. British English

Is there a consensus already on whether we should be using American or British spelling? It seems, from looking around, that it's up to the individual editor, but I think that spelling conventions should be chosen and adhered to. As an American show, set in the U.S., I would advocate for American usage. Feel free to kick me if this has already been discussed, but I didn't see it in the style guide. -Randy 07:21, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
