Forum: The Situation Room > Consensus checks
Are consensus checks open exclusively for established members or is anyone allowed to partake in the voting?--Citizen91 22:33, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- What's a concensus check? --proudhug 05:57, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Willo just made up that vote unofficially, so I don't know what his intentions were. Things aren't actually decided by votes on Wiki 24. Concensus involves people stating reasons for their opinions and the community mmaking decisions based on what's agreed to be the best reasons. One person with a good reason outweighs a hundred voters with bad or no reasons. The only official rules for voting pertains to the Featured Articles, which require you be a registered user for at least two weeks and have made at least twenty significant edits to the main namespace. Reasons are not required for FA votes, they merely help sway others to vote your way. --proudhug 13:37, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- I get it. I'm just part of another wiki that employs that system of voting and thought it was handled the same way here. Thanks for the insight.--Citizen91 13:56, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
