Biography and career Edit

Francisco Viana graduated from the the University of California, Berkeley. He studied acting at The American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, at Shakespeare & Company in Lennox, Massachussetts and at The Beverly Hills Playhouse.

Viana started his acting career in 1996, appearing as a maitre'd during an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210. After that, he has appeared in TV shows like Acapulco H.E.A.T., The Shield (with Benito Martinez), Criminal Minds (with Geoff Pierson), The Unit (with Dennis Haysbert and Michael Irby), CSI: Miami (with Megalyn Echikunwoke), and Castle (with Stana Katic and Reed Diamond). Viana also had a recurring role as Detective Jake Simms on Dexter from 2006 to 2012.

Aside of TV shows, Viana has also appeared on films like Sasori in U.S.A., Bob, James Bob, and Fish Without a Bicycle.
