Frank John Hughes (born November 11, 1967; age 56) played Tim Woods during Season 7 and Season 8 of 24.

Biography and career[]

Frank John Hughes was born in The Bronx, New York. He studied Jazz composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and was also given a lifetime membership in The Actor's Studio. He appeared in various Off-Broadway productions before debuting in the film True Convictions in 1991.

He has starred in films like Bad Boys, Catch Me If You Can with James Morrison and Brian Goodman, and Righteous Kill. He reunited with Goodman for Kings of South Beach. On TV he had an important role in the popular drama The Sopranos as well as small roles in series like The Guardian with Vicellous Shannon, Criminal Minds with Sprague Grayden, Justified with Hector Atreyu Ruiz and NCIS among others. Hughes also starred in the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers.

In 2007, Hughes was cast to play the role of the Director of Homeland Security for the seventh and eighth seasons of 24.
