Frank Silva (born April 20, 1959; age 64) played an unnamed Distribution center guard during Season 5 of 24.

Biography and career

Frank Silva was born in New Rochelle, New York as Frank DaSilva. However, he considers Florida to be his home. Silva attended the University of Miami, where he complete both a Bachelor and a Master's degree. After college, he worked as a police officer in Dade County for a short time before joining the US Army. Silva served five years on active duty before returning to complete his Master's. During those years, he also taught high school social studies.

Silva started acting in the 1993 TV film King's Ransom. After that, he appeared in films like The Substitute (with Vincent Laresca and Raymond Cruz), Contact (with Max Martini and Carl Gilliard), and Armageddon (with Will Patton). During those years, he also studied acting to improve his skills.

After the September 11 attacks, Silva was mobilized to active duty for Operation Enduring Freedom. He served actively until his retirement in 2007. Between tours, he appeared in TV shows like Judging Amy (with Timothy Omundson and Gregory Itzin) and The Playbook.
