Gainesville was an American city in the state of Florida.
As part of his alias as "Jack Roush", Jack Bauer supposedly served time in Gainesville, Florida. Joseph Wald was aware of the prison sentence, but Eddie Grant and Dave did not believe Jack, so they ran a background check on him on the Corrections Offender Network on the State of Florida Department of Corrections website. As CTU had uploaded a fake profile for Jack as part of his cover, it appeared that the information checked out ("Day 2: 9:00am-10:00am").
