The People's Freedom Army participating in genocide.

Genocide is the systematic destruction of all or a significant part of a racial, ethnic, religious or national group, most often accomplished by mass murder.

Before Day 1Edit

Victor Drazen perpetrated genocide in Kosovo.

Victor Drazen (A.K.A. "The Butcher of Belgrade") was a Serbian military leader serving Slobodan Milošević who carried out several ethnic cleansing campaigns and purges throughout Kosovo and committed various war crimes. Evidence suggested that Hamat Gorunian, a financier of anti-Serbian organizations which also committed mass murder, was himself assassinated by Mishko Suba, a terrorist with ties to Drazen. (Findings at CTU)

Before Day 7Edit

A Sangalan villager is murdered with the prion variant.

Prior to Day 7, the African rebel faction in Sangala known as the People's Freedom Army committed mass murders against the populace and forced large numbers of children to take arms or clear minefields (24: Redemption). The rebel leadership (most notably General Benjamin Juma, and "The Butcher of Sangala" Colonel Iké Dubaku) was paid by Jonas Hodges (of the American private military contractor Starkwood) to poison whole villages with a weaponized prion variant ("Day 7: 11:00pm-12:00am").

Background information and notesEdit

  • 24: Redemption is the only portion of a season that truly spends time covering genocide events. Other instances on the show are mentioned events or background information for the various terrorists' histories. For more information on the latter section, see here.
