During the mission, Frank Hensley was captured by enemy forces and taken to Baghdad. Following Hensley's attempts to start an influenza pandemic in New York City, Jack Bauer speculated that Hensley had been killed by agents of 999, Iraq's most secret special forces outfit, and replaced with an impostor. (Operation Hell Gate)
Immediately after Desert Storm, Curtis Manning was stationed in Iraq as commander of the 32nd Support Group, a Special Forces battalion. The unit was ambushed and taken captive, except for Curtis, and its members were executed on video by members of Hamri Al-Assad's terrorist organization. ("Day 6: 9:00am-10:00am")
