J. Patrick McCormack studied at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he completed a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology in 1969.
McCormack started his acting career in 1992, appearing in the film Folks! (with Wendy Crewson). After that, he has appeared in films like Wag the Dog, Armageddon (with Will Patton), Catch Me If You Can, Zodiac (with John Lacy and John Terry), and Eagle Eye (with Anthony Azizi and Bill Smitrovich).
