During Day 7, Tony Almeida breached the CIP firewall and took control of air traffic in the US. He rerouted two planes: Flight 117 and Flight 35, that were about to land at JFK Airport to use the same runway. When the planes were about to crash, Tony gave one of the pilots the order to pull up avoiding the crash.

Russian President Yuri Suvarov arrived at JFK by helicopter at approximately 1:30pm to attend the signing of the peace agreement between the United States and Kamistan at the United Nations.
