James Jordan was born in Houston, Texas. He graduated from UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television with a Master of Fine Arts in Acting.

Jordan began his professional acting career in 2005. He has appeared in TV shows like Over There (with Omid Abtahi and Sprague Grayden), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (with Tomas Arana), Cold Case (with Sandra Purpuro), Just Legal (with Dean Norris), The Closer (with Raymond Cruz and Billy Burke), Justified (with Chris Mulkey), True Blood (with Giles Matthey), and Blue (with James Morrison).

From 2006 to 2007, Jordan guest starred on Veronica Mars. During that time, he shared the screen with Patrick Fabian and Jeremy Ray Valdez, among others.
