Jason Toolin Grutter (born March 5, 1975; age 45) played Doug Masters during Season 5 of 24.

Biography and career Edit

Jason Grutter was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his parents and three younger brothers. He graduated high school as a National Merit Scholar and accepted a full-ride academic scholarship to the University of Houston's Honors College where he studied Chemical Engineering/Mathematics. Grutter later transferred to Graceland University, where he earned All-Conference honors in both football and track-and-field as well as All-American Scholar Athlete. He graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Communications. After college, he worked as an engineer for a few years before deciding to pursue a career in acting.

Grutter started his acting career in 2001, appearing in an episode of the soap opera Guiding Light. After that, he has appeared in other TV shows like The Inside, JAG (with Scott Lawrence), NCIS (with Pauley Perrette), Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Private Practice. Grutter also had a brief role on Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can (with Frank John Hughes).

After almost 10 years acting, Grutter enrolled at Pepperdine University School of Law. He completed his Juris Doctorate in 2013. During law school, he worked as a Research Assistant and Law Clerk. After graduating, Grutter started practicing as an attorney for The Burbank Firm, LC in Burbank, California.

Grutter resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.
