Biography and career[]

Jeffrey Wincott was born in Toronto, Canada. His parents were British and Italian, and he has two brothers. An older brother and a younger one, Michael, who is also an actor. They were raised in Scarborough, Toronto.

During high school, Wincott competed in swimming, wrestling, boxing, football, rugby, and water polo. He also trained in the martial arts of Kung Fu, Karate, and earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Later, he moved to New York to study with Stella Adler, Michael Kahn, and Eli Rill.

Wincott has appeared in stage productions, television programs, commercials, and feature films. His first major role was as police detective Frank Giambone in his own CBS television series, Night Heat. After that, he has appeared in shows like Matlock, JAG (with Scott Lawrence), NCIS (with Pauley Perrette), The Good Wife, Person of Interest (with Tim Guinee and Al Sapienza), and The Wire (with Domenick Lombardozzi).

Because of his physical condition as an athlete, Wincott has appeared in many action films and sometimes performs his own stunts. Some of the films in which he has starred are Prom Night, Martial Law II: Undercover, and two Universal Soldier sequels, along with Matt Battaglia. The events of both films were retconned in later sequels, though.
