Jenny Dodge was Press Secretary to President David Palmer on Day 2. Aside from carrying out her duties as press secretary, she brought Palmer the news that Ron Wieland was asking questions about a possible attack on the United States.

She was instrumental in deflecting press attention from the nuclear threat against Los Angeles.

Jenny was well liked by Palmer and Lynne Kresge, Palmer's appointed counselor. Jenny was very worried when Kresge was severely injured after discovering a plot by Mike Novick and Vice President James Prescott to hijack Palmer's presidency. She was not a part of this conspiracy, and was a stong proponent for President Palmer.

At the end of the day, as Palmer, restored to the Presidency, made his way down to a waiting motorcade, Jenny accompanied him.

Unbeknownst to Jenny, or to anyone else, one of the many faces in the crowd was Mandy, a woman responsible for the bombing of a Boeing 747 eighteen months earlier, and working for Max. Mandy shook President Palmer's hand, and he continued down to the waiting cars. However, all was not well. Mandy had, in fact, been wearing a rubber cover on her hand. This cover was coated in an unknown biogenic agent, which was highly toxic and dangerous.

Palmer looked at his hand, and found something burning through his skin. Palmer collapsed, and Jenny shouted for help, running to the President's side, while Secret Service swarmed around them, searching through the crowd. Jenny was the last person to speak in Season 2, aside from the President's gasping and the clamor of the crowd around him

Unfortunately, however, Mandy had escaped, and would remain at large for four and a half years.
