Margaret JoBeth Williams (born December 6, 1948; age 75) portrayed Miriam Henderson in Season 5 of 24.

Biography and career

JoBeth Williams was born in Houston, Texas to a dietitian and an opera singer. She attended Jones High School, and in 1970 graduated from Pembroke College in Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Although she intended to become a child psychologist, she ended up pursuing a career in acting. Williams trained with Jim Barnhill and John Emigh as well as at the Trinity Repertory Company. She then moved to New York City.

Williams began her career in 1974, appearing in the TV show Jabberwocky. After that, she has appeared in shows like The White Shadow (with Kevin Hooks), Guiding Light, Fish Police, Payne, and NCIS (with Pauley Perrette). She also had a recurring role in the short-lived drama The Nine, co-starring John Billingsley, Lourdes Benedicto, Kim Raver, Jamie McShane, Michael O'Neill and Zach Grenier.

Aside from TV shows, Williams has appeared in films like Kramer vs. Kramer, Poltergeist, The Big Chill, Switch, Wyatt Earp (with Tom Sizemore and Mare Winningham), and Jungle 2 Jungle.
