John Allen Nelson (born August 28, 1959; age 65) played Walt Cummings in seasons 4 and 5 of 24.
Biography and career[]
John Allen Nelson was born in San Antonio, Texas. His father was a U.S. Air Force doctor, so Nelson spent the first three years of his life in Germany, while his father was stationed there.
Through the early years of his career, Nelson appeared on such shows as Santa Barbara, Quantum Leap, and Friends. However, he is best known for his appearances in the early seasons of Baywatch. He played the role of John D. Cort from 1990 to 1995. Nelson reprised the role in the 2003 TV film Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.
Nelson later costarred with another Baywatch alum, Gena Lee Nolin, in the syndicated Sheena, Queen of the Jungle (directed by Jon Cassar). More recently he had a regular role on the cancelled FOX series Vanished (with Carlos Gomez) as well as a TV pilot called Partners (with Annie Wersching) that failed to get picked up. Nelson has also appeared on NCIS (with Pauley Perrette) and Castle (with Stana Katic, Penny Johnson Jerald, and Emil Beheshti).
Nelson was married to Åse Samuelsson from 1998 to 2005. They had two children together, who live with their mother in Sweden. In 2007, Nelson married Justine Eyre.

Nelson played the role of Walt Cummings during Seasons 4 and 5. Cummings was the Chief of Staff under President Charles Logan. Nelson appeared in four episodes during Season 4, and seven episodes in Season 5, for a total of 11 appearances in the show. He was always credited as a guest star.
